Whether you’re moving into a new business premises and want to bring your energy account with you, or you’re planning on moving out of your current site and need to know what to do about your utilities, there’s plenty of information online that will help you in the transition.

If you’re moving premises, now would be a perfect opportunity to switch providers if you need to. You may find that your current bill is a little over the odds and you may think you could do better with the business electric prices from British Gas, or you may feel that switching providers will mean you could take advantage of a fixed tariff – either way, moving premises is an ideal time to get your energy finances in order.

If you’re moving out of your current premises, you need to inform British Gas (or whichever supplier who are signed up with) that you are moving. A month’s notice is recommended so that things can go as smoothly as possible. On your final moving day, give them up to date meter readings and organise an address for the final bill to be sent to.

When you move in to your new premises, let British Gas know that you are the new occupier as soon as you can, so that they can set up your energy supply. If you do this pronto, you won’t be charged deemed rates that are very expensive compared with your normal rates. In some cases, your supplier may already be providing energy to your new business address. In this event, you may be able to move over your current price plan so that you can continue benefiting from the tariff. If your chosen supplier doesn’t already have control of your new address, you can obtain a competitive quote by calling them.

The moving process doesn’t have to be a complicated or arduous one – keep the supplier informed and everything will run smoothly.

Without warning 8 several weeks ago i received instructions from British Gas saying that they are now my energy supplier (gas and electricity). They’d just absorbed from Npower without asking me, if this sounds like things i wanted. Npower also provided my gas and electricity. I’ve found this totally from order. The issue i must no after watching a course 2 nights ago is if i’m able to claim compensation over this switching of one’s supplier without my consent. This program recommended that individuals this as became of are titled to compensation because they are not supposed to get this done without my consent?

A a number of 200 and fifty pounds was pointed out.

If this sounds like correct wouldso would i go about using with this money off them and will it be lower to British Gas or Npower. It’s also rather strange why a large company like Npower would certainly let British Gas do that and dominate my account. I’m on payg energy for electric and gas.

For some time when competition began, these two companies were instructed to maintain high costs. Because they didn’t loose anymore share of the market compared to what they expected, they are the most costly providers in thier fields!

Besides this, British Gas is well known for complex billing, billing errors and appaling customer support!

And therefore my question: why a multitude of people still with BT and british gas?

I’m most intersted to listen to from clients of the companies.

We’re nearly to maneuver right into a new flat (independently leased) and there’s gas boiler that must definitely be operated with whether card or key (I’ve not even checked out it yet, any tips about what/where I am searching could be gratefully appreciated). I hear that this is extremely costly in comparison to having to pay by direct debit and thus wondered can one just generate a normal account with british gas or would this ‘t be permitted because they would like to rip me served by the stupid meter?

    Hope that made sense.

Also, I understand britis gas are a terrible company based on lots of people I’ve talked to but has anybody had bad encounters together regarding these card/ key thingies?

I purchased a home some time ago which had formerly been two houses coupled with two gas meters out front. Gas is provided by British Gas and confident we’d them arrived at (re) connect Gas whenever we had contractors in before relocating. Real question is, when the second meter is ‘dead’, should i get British Gas to get rid of (appear very costly), will i need Corgi licensed to get rid of or can anybody get it done – presuming later because it is ‘dead’.

However, for whatever reason, the boiler plays up each year. Before he stated, “Your boiler is simply too old now and can need changing”. Why can’t they simply keep repairing it, because this is things i pay into? I am unable to afford a replacement and just how can one get hot flowing water with a brand new boiler?

Following a decision by British Gas to hike its prices David Cameron suggests looking around for any cheaper supplier, is that this seem advice once the other energy information mill broadly reported as likely to follow to profit from British Gas’s move, switching providers could be a nightmare, involve cost and charges are deliberately written to create comparison difficult?

Or will it just demonstrate around the world how from touch he’s with reality?

Anyway, my next payday is precisely 30 days from the time British gas released my bills. I have given them several meter blood pressure measurements in the last year when pay my online bill.

My real question is should I must pay this bill legally thinking about THEY undervalued while getting accurate meter blood pressure measurements?

  21. Darci January 21, 2014 at 8:52 am

British gas have explained that because I don’t always employ enough electricity every week which i will need to pay a standing charge. Additionally they explained they could put me right through to their energy conservationists who’ll advise me regarding how to use more energy! Have I first got it wrong, I figured they are meant to encourage their clients to become more energy-efficient and consume less to assist preserve the atmosphere.

Speaking about heating water having a water boiler in your own home for any shower or bath and roughly how that energy converts to models of Gas used and when my supplier were British gas just how much wouldn’t it cost.

  24. Mac February 21, 2014 at 5:21 pm

My mother is within a care home so she’s clearly isn’t living at her home nor is other people.

The only real bills you should be having to pay may be the electricity once we possess the lights on the timer in the future on of the evening but British Gas constantly send us bills saying we owe cash except I’m arguing it as being the gas appliance aren’t getting used.

They first sent us bills varying from £40 to £100 and in the beginning I would pay simply to solve the problem however they stated we owe them £500 and that i can’t pay that.

Then today we’ve got instructions form a bailiffs for approximately £800 but I haven’t got that type of money to pay for.

They are saying they will send bailiffs round to get products but I am unclear about how it operates.

Will the bailiffs take products from my mum’s house or mine or both?

How do i stop them from appropriating products until me and British Gas can solve this?

Legally – can one use pressure to obtain them off mine or my mums property?

Can One involve law enforcement or some type of authority to try and stop them?

    Thanks,

  25. David February 23, 2014 at 1:19 pm
